Ernest Race’s two chair designs for mass seating at the 1951 Festival of Britain — the ‘Antelope’ and the 'Springbok'. The Festival of Britain was the introduction for general public for modern architecture.It was the opportunity to experiment and for a group of artists, architects and designers to work together. Also it was the beggining of the development of the southbank area from London and an statement to introduce Britain as a referent in modern movement during the 60s.
